Holy Redeemer High School Girls’ Softball Team to be Honored

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)  Three cheers for the girls!

Wilkes-Barre Mayor Tony George will present a proclamation to the Holy Redeemer High School Girls’ Softball Team on Thursday, August 11,  at 11:30 AM during the Farmers’ Market on Public Square in Downtown Wilkes-Barre.

The team won the PIAA Class AA State Championship Title for the 2016 season.

This is the Royals’ second consecutive State Championship.

Plus, it  is only the fourth time in the state that there has been a back-to-back State Championship in softball.

 Joining Mayor George will be State Representative Eddie “Day” Pashinski and representatives from the offices of Congressman Cartwright, State Senator Yudichak, and State Senator Baker,.

They will all extend congratulations and present citations from the lawmakers to the team.
