WILKES-BARRE — The city police department, in conjunction with the Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch, will observe National Night Out from 1-5 p.m. on July 30 in Public Square.

The event will feature music, free games for children, demonstrations, raffle baskets and 50-cent food items, according to a news release from the city office.

National Night Out is a family friendly event that gives the community a chance to meet and interact with city police officers and members of other law enforcement agencies that support and work with the Wilkes-Barre Police Department, the news release states.

Those agencies include the city fire department, state police, the state Attorney General’s Office, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office and Drug Task Force, the county Sheriff’s Office and Constables Association, Luzerne County 911 and local social service agencies.
